We are fortunate to enjoy a culture of giving and support, providing us with vital financial resources every independent school needs to thrive and grow. The generosity of our community has allowed the school to maintain solid economic footing and be accessible to families of many economic circumstances. Generations of parents, trustees, alumni, grandparents, faculty and friends have contributed to the Lake Champlain Waldorf School with a spirit of generosity that makes us proud.
The Annual Fund is a critical part of everything we do. We ask that the first gift that you make to the Lake Champlain Waldorf School each year be a gift or pledge to the Annual Fund. Then, and now, our priority remains the same: funding the faculty and programs that are the foundation of all that we do.
Annual Fund Facts
What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is the Lake Champlain Waldorf School most important ongoing fundraising activity, raising over $130,000 for the current school year budget. The Annual Fund helps provide for the same items covered in the budget: teacher salaries, program support, specialist programs, arts, athletics, campus maintenance, and more.
Because tuition doesn’t cover the entire cost of a LCWS education (there is typically an $900 – $1,100 difference per student), we ask every family to support the Annual Fund at a level that is appropriate to their own family budget and one that shows your pride in being part of the school community.
Who gives to the Annual Fund?
Members of the Lake Champlain Waldorf School community, including parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, staff, alumni parents, and friends, make unrestricted donations each year that go directly into our annual operating budget.
Annual Fund First:
We hope that your belief in our school and the teaching that goes on every day will make the Lake Champlain Waldorf School a top philanthropic priority for you and your family. Funding the faculty and programs that are the foundation of all that we do remains everyone’s highest responsibility.
Out of this commitment, we ask that the first gift that you make to the Lake Champlain Waldorf School each year be a gift or pledge to the Annual Fund.
Why commit now?
Annual Fund dollars are part of this year’s budget; it’s crucial that the Board of Trustees and the Finance Committee know that we will meet our goal in the fall in order to plan for the remainder of the year. While we realize that everyone may choose to fulfill their pledge at anytime during the school year, we ask that you make your pledge now.
When Can I Make A Gift to the Annual Fund?
Please consider a gift or pledge in the next three months. Pledge payments can be made through the end of June 2014, when our fiscal year closes.
